She did this on Thursday afternoon, at school with a heavy toilet door. I took her to the doctor on Friday and they drilled holes in the nail to relieve the pressure. It swelled more dramatically on Saturday, so it was x-rayed to make sure it wasn't broken - it wasn't. However, this is how it looks today...
And of course, it's her left hand and she is left-handed!! And as well she has been running a fever of nearly 40 degrees for three days which today has resolved itself into a head cold. So as today is my day off, she is spending the whole day at home doing NOTHING.

Oh my gosh, that looks fabulously awful!! Is it sore? I didn't know she was a leftie, hope 2011 is a better one for her!
ReplyDeleteIt's awfully sore - she's spent the last four days doped up on panadeine and ibuprofen. Slowly cutting back the painkillers now.
ReplyDeleteOw, ow, ow!!! That is nasty! Poor wee sweetie. Does that bruise go all the way round? 'Cause you wouldn't want to lose the end of her finger. What about leeches? (And I'm serious.)

ReplyDeleteNo- the bruise is only on one side, the nail side. I think it needs draining but she won't let me touch it, so it might be another trip to the doctor. And yes I will post pictures of the paving as soon as it's finished.
