Well, I'm here, I'm alive, and I do apologise for not being in touch in last few weeks. Life got even busier!!!
I happened to have a conversation with one of the associate principal's at school on a Monday afternoon three weeks ago, and mentioned the fact that I was interested in getting back into relief work as an Education Assistant. The work hasn't stopped since. I have been working two to three full days a week since then, mostly with special needs kids. Nothing like being thrown in at the deep end!!
I am absolutely loving being back at work - but the house is suffering. Haven't quite worked out those superwoman routines yet that allow you to work, and keep the house in an immaculate condition (not that it ever was!).
On Monday, as some of you would have seen on the news, Perth's drought broke in the most spectacular way. I have NEVER EVER seen a storm like it. I seriously thought we were going to lose our northern windows, and as you can see from the photos below, the park up the end of our road lost a lot of trees. The houses on the other side of the park suffered major roof losses. Considering all we have to do is replace all our flyscreens on the northern side (they are shredded), we got off extremely lightly. I had left the car on the driveway and it was not touched - amazing, considering the size of the hail.
And we got 40mm of rain in 15 minutes - the photos below are after the water dropped a couple of inches...
And the poor grape vines were decimated...
